Simond and the Fairtrade/Max Havelaar Label
Some paths are not traced on rock, but through our convictions.
Today, we continue our ethical and sustainable journey, a long-standing commitment that we strengthen step by step. The proof comes with the 2026 launch of a line of three products made from Fairtrade certified cotton. It is just one more step, but every step counts and brings us closer to our sustainability goals.
Our vision is simple: make performance accessible, yes. At any cost, no.

This belief drives our commitment.
To blaze this new trail, we partnered with the Fairtrade/Max Havelaar label. Independent, rigorous, and credible, this certification guarantees producers a minimum price, a development premium to invest in projects improving their lives and communities, and encourages environmentally responsible practices.

Fairtrade Cotton: What are the guarantees?
The Fairtrade/Max Havelaar label on our cotton products is not just a tag. It is backed by strong economic, social, and environmental guarantees, ensuring better living conditions for cotton producers while respecting the environment.

A Guaranteed Minimum Price
Cotton producers receive a minimum purchase price, protecting them against market fluctuations

Full Traceability
Fairtrade/Max Havelaar ensures the cotton is traceable from the field to the finished product, meaning the t-shirt you wear comes from a certified Fairtrade cooperative.

Fairtrade Development Premium
Beyond fair remuneration, producer organizations receive an additional sum, a Development Premium, to fund projects improving the well-being of producers and their communities (education, health, etc.). Producers themselves decide how this premium is used. Two percent of net revenue from Fairtrade-labeled Simond products is contributed to Max Havelaar France to fund the Fairtrade movement.
It is important to note that Fairtrade cotton certification ensures better pay for cotton producers. Worker wages and conditions in garment factories are addressed by a separate Fairtrade textile standard, which is currently being revised, and is our target for the future.

A Long-Term Vision: Cotton and Textile, Two Pieces of the Puzzle
Our commitment to Fairtrade is a two-step vision, with complementary standards:
The Fairtrade Cotton Standard (2026)
Ensures traceability and a fair price for cotton producers. This forms the basis of our current efforts.
The Textile Workers Standard (Future)
Aims to guarantee fair wages for garment workers. The standard is being rewritten by Fairtrade to make it more applicable industry-wide. As a committed player, we participate with other partners to shape its implementation.
Our Fairtrade Cotton Range: Base Camp
Our commitment starts with a line of three Fairtrade certified cotton products (available in septembre 2026):

T-shirt

Hoodie

Cap
This first collection is just the beginning of our expedition.
The path ahead:
2027: Expand Fairtrade certification to all our cotton climbing t-shirts.
2030: We want to extend it to all our cotton climbing t-shirts and pants.
Shared Responsibility
The textile industry is complex, and rather than a solitary revolution, we believe in collective action. This commitment connects producers, our brand, and you. To ensure that producers earn a dignified living, brands like ours play a crucial role. And for our efforts to grow, your support is essential.
Choosing a Simond product certified Fairtrade/Max Havelaar means more than selecting quality apparel. You become a key part of this chain of responsibility, encouraging us to continue our work.

The Power of a Team
This first Fairtrade/Max Havelaar collection is more than just a product line. It embodies our commitment and the start of a path that cannot be walked alone. Every step counts, and we move forward with the conviction that a fairer future is built hand in hand. The most beautiful ascent is one that is fair to all team members.
